    • I personally use the harmony remote and think it works great! Most computer literate people can program the Harmony via a PC or Mac and unlike similar remotes, you don’t need to hire a pro to get everything up and running.

    • Harmony remotes are not so inexpensive way to consolidate all your remote controls, but on can not say that they are truly universal. I have worked with and owned about 5 different Harmony remotes, from more basic like 680, all the way to 890PRO, and none have lasted for more than a year, either a charging contact or the battery always went out, and the remotes never did what they were supposed to. Today I own an MX900 from Universal Remote Control, and I couldn’t be happier. After I bought it, I did some basic setup myself, it worked great. But then I had the system installed by UWS, and the guys reprogrammed my remote, it now is simply amazing. Single click and the system does exactly what it should – every time.
