Blockbuster to deliver streamed movie content through Samsung’s connected devices.

Samsung has partnered with Blockbuster to deliver streamed movies to the subscriber’s homes via their new line of connected TV’s and blu-ray players. To make things easier, a downloadable widget will be released to enable Blockbuster streaming on older versions of Samsung’s web ready TV’s.


Secondly, Blockbuster’s cooperation with Tivo, which merged an amazing interface with an OnDemand service Blockbuster offers, presents additional growth opportunities for both sides. Blockbuster OnDemand  integrated into TiVo Series2, Series3, TiVo HD, and TiVo HD XL DVRs will allow customers with high-speed internet connections to access this service.

It is nice to see that a presumed-dying movie rental giant, Blockbuster, will bring some competition to Netflix, which has almost succeeded in claiming the movie-streaming industry.
